Private Supplemental Tuition    $70/hr

Supplemental tuition is for students who are already studying French at school or other institutions and looking for additional support for these courses and their language learning. Most of our students work with us through supplemental tuition.

In a supplemental session, tutors help students with homework assignments, assist in studying for upcoming tests or preparing for presentations. We help students master the use of complex verb tenses or better comprehend listening exercises; we share study tools and tips to ensure students are confident in their school’s French language curriculum.

Private Primary Tuition       $85/hr

Primary tuition is for students who use Salut! Salut! French Tutoring as their main source of French education. Students who are interested in this service must demonstrate a commitment to French learning both inside and out of our classroom. These lessons are only offered by request and must be approved by Salut! Salut! French Tutoring prior to commencement.

Primary tuition is a great option for students who are preparing to enter another French language course (such as French IB or a French immersion program) who want to maintain or improve their language skills in the lead-up. Other students who take advantage of this tuition are those preparing to move/study in a French-speaking country, or those with French heritage who wish to maintain or improve their French while living in an anglophone environment.

Students studying via primary tuition are required to purchase their own textbooks/workbooks, as assigned by the tutor. Homework is assigned regularly and must be completed prior to the start of each lesson.

Conversation Session    $70-90/hr

Students looking to focus on their conversational French can book one-on-one 30 minute or 1 hour sessions with a tutor. Students are assigned reading or listening homework to complete prior to the lesson, from which they also prepare conversation questions to present for discussion in class. Tutors will assign topics based on current events, students’ interests and linguistic goals, and/or school curriculum requirements.

Students interested in conversation sessions must have prior French language experience.

30 min sessions are online ONLY unless paired with another in-person lesson.

Rates vary based on whether students’ Conversation Sessions are in relation to Supplemental or Primary tuition.
